VAC: Dungeons and Dragons Gr. 3-9 (week 2)

Have you ever wanted to play the nationally-known game Dungeons and Dragons? Stretch your imagination telling stories with your friends, and build useful creative skills? What about play the game they do in Stranger Things? Well this is your chance! In this class, we’ll be exploring collaborative storytelling through Dungeons and Dragons. Along the way, we’ll develop social and emotional skills that will serve us well outside of the RPG.

VAC: Cooking Around the World Gr. 3-9 (week 4)

Do you love to cook? Want to know more recipes? In this unique cooking camp for young kids, students learn all about kids food from around the world: how to make it, how to make it safely, and how to make it well! You’ll learn about food safety, meet new friends, and cook some (oven-less) recipes from different countries. Everything we cook will be easy to make and suitable for after-school kid cooking, touching on finger-foods from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. During sessions, you and your friends will play fun cooking games, learn a few food words from another culture, and get simple recipes you can use at home for an awesome lunch or to cook alongside your parents.

VAC: Creative Writing Gr. 3-9 (week 7)

Do you have a story to tell? Want to learn how to express yourself through writing? Join our Creative Writing class! This camp will help students develop their writing skills, from crafting compelling characters to building immersive worlds. Through guided exercises and personalized feedback we give during camp, students will learn how to bring their ideas to life and create stories that will captivate readers. Whether you’re interested in fiction, non-fiction, or poetry, this class is the perfect way to explore your creativity and develop your writing skills. All you need is a notebook and a pen, and you’re ready to start writing!

What to Bring

Campers are required to wear sneakers and athletic/comfortable clothing. We are trying to use less plastic cups, please encourage your camper to bring a reusable water bottle. There will be water refill stations all over campus. Campers may also have time at our water play area throughout the week, please pack a bathing suit for the week. Summer@BB&N provides towels, so no need to bring your own!
